The 1Unit Platform

Software to succeed

When we started supporting hospitals to implement Nurses First™ and SIBR® rounds we just had a ring binder and some training manuals. But we quickly learned that long-term success and excellence required more: The 1Unit Platform.

Through 10+ years of implementations we’ve continuously optimized our training, tools and resources to better support hospitals, improve unit outcomes and reduce the risk of false-starts.

Optimized for scale and spread

Instead of adding more and more content for people to learn, we’ve enhanced our approach by stripping out the excess and unnecessary. This has resulted in a refined and polished approach that takes units from evaluation to implementation and sustainment to excellence.

At the core of our refinement has been a move to elearning, electronic skills assessments and ongoing process performance evaluation to maintain a standard of process excellence all supported by the 1Unit Platform: Riberry.

Smart phone, tablet, laptop, workstation-on-wheels and desktop friendly.

Efficiently onboard and upskill

Nurses First and SIBR rounds online training takes under 25 minutes. Skills assessments to affirm competency with the new processes can be completed in 60-90 seconds. Training and certification reports are available on-demand or scheduled for distribution.

SIBR® rounds performance data tracking can be recorded in 60 seconds per day, with daily, weekly and quarterly reports available on-demand or scheduled for distribution.

The 1Unit Platform enables units to rapidly onboard new staff, verify competence and sustain the new standard of care.

Easily onboard new staff to the unit processes through our on-demand learning modules and resources. We’ve refined our elearning content for Nurses First down to 20 minutes of learning + 5 minute quiz. Similarly, SIBR orientation can be completed in 20-25 minutes of learning + 5 minute quiz.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does The 1Unit Platform integrate with our EMR?

No. We like to keep things simple and focus on what we know, and that is successfully implementing new daily care processes with the insights and governance models to support them.

Having to integrate with your EMR slows down your ability to rollout at pace. Whereas, we can actually turn on a dime and get a hospital ready to go within 24 hours if needed.

The 1Unit Platform is fully backed by its own API enabling you to pull data out to your own analytics packages and runs on Microsoft’s Azure cloud services to provide quality and security assurance.

Do we need any special hardware or technology?

No. The 1Unit Platform is designed as a web app and will work on any modern web browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera, Safari) on any device or screen size as long as it has internet access.

Need to complete some skills assessments for staff members, grab your phone and you’re good to go. Want to review training or certification reports back at your desk, no problem. Have to present process performance data at a meeting, just log in with the one computer that works with the projector and you’re ready to go.

Will there be a user limit?

We typically license Nurses First or SIBR for a whole hospital or service line. Limiting how many staff can access training is a sure fire way to create variability and sub-optimal performance. So, we don’t limit how many staff working within the service line or hospital can be registered to access the training, certifications or resources. As a result, we actively encourage all units to register their staff and float staff so that everyone understands their responsibilities and the unit expectations.
