Director of Hospital Programs 1Unit Australasia-Pacific

Bruce is the Director of Hospital Programs for 1Unit Australasia-Pacific. In this role, he has been working closely with progressive hospital leaders and frontline staff looking to bring daily proactive, patient-centred teamwork processes to their wards. Bruce has a number of responsibilities, including working closely with Dr. Jason Stein on the implementation of the ACU care model and Structured Interdisciplinary Bedside Rounds (SIBR) certification in Australia and New Zealand, while refining 1Unit products for the context of Australasia-Pacific healthcare.

Bruce has worked closely with 1Unit APAC clients for several years, providing insights, mentorship and solution manager services as part of ACU implementation.


Bruce’s background includes business management and leadership, simulation training, virtual worlds, film, media & web technology. He has run businesses for 20 years and worked with many of the biggest brands in the world. In 2003, he set up an R&D team to create an immersive multiuser platform for rapid visual prototyping and collaboration that grew into the VastPark virtual worlds/simulation platform and company.

Bruce studied VC finance at HAAS, UC Berkeley and his interests include disruptive technology, conscious eco-systems and building a smarter, healthier world. He has spoken at conferences around the world on simulation training, gamification of education and teamwork training.

He achieved world-class results for large corporate entities with small, effective teams. His clients included governments, DSTO, US Navy, Boeing, USDA, Alfred Health, Centre for Health Innovation, Victorian government DOJ, Deloitte, Medibank Private, BHP, GM, Holden, Fuji Xerox, Mars, Seven Network, and Linfox.
